Cold War Delta Green

Main Post:

I want some plot ideas, seed, info, ideas, suggestions about story set in the Cold War about Delta Green.

Top Comment:

The CIA operations in Laos and Cambodia are just begging to be made into scenarios.

Same with COINTELPRO, which was an FBI program to investigate seditious political organizations.

Long War 2 vs SPECTRUM GREEN

Main Post:

How do these compare as stand-alones? Why are there so many spectrum colour mods, how are they different?

Top Comment:

Why are there so many spectrum colour mods, how are they different?

well spectrum "yellow" was the first version of the spectrum mod

the things that "yellow" did were

  • changed the number of classes from 4 to 8(all classes now have the same stat progression)
  • enemies are now divided into 5 diferent groups (Psionics, Toxic, Pyro, MEC, Riot)

as the name implies toxic troops carry gas nades and venom rounds ,pyro troops carry incindeary nades and dragon rounds and psionic troops are well psi soldiers

riot troop are standard advent and MECs are units with VERY high armor

  • instead of upgrading from ballistics to mags and mags to plasma after you reserch modular weapons you can reserch either

plasma(Innacurate, Imprecise, Shredding, Medium Damage)

lasers(Accurate, Precise, Piercing, Low Damage)

mags(High Damage, negative peirce)

--------------------------------------------------------------------

"Green" is the second full version of the mod and had a few design changes

  • instead of 8 classes with different skill trees and the same stat progression we now have 8 classes with the same skill tree and different stat progression(also all classes can use all primary and secondary weapons)
  • the enemie groups have been changed into 9 factions (ADVENT, AEGIS, PANDORA, PROMETHEUS, TITAN, LAW, NOX, LAZARUS and the Aliens)

i could type about all these faction here but derbk already did so here you go https://www.reddit.com/r/Xcom/comments/6gqxaq/the_tldr_on_spectrum_2_the_enemy_factions/

  • the weapons are largely unchanged from "yelow"

Djinn war quest; Blue or Green faction?

Main Post:

Hey, I've been wanting to do this quest in order to get more money out of my loot but I'm not sure which one I should choose. As of now the blue side seems like the better choice because I have 30+ obsidian lances that sell for 500 gp to nah'bob but I'm not sure If this side will be beneficial at higher levels (lvl 70 ek atm). What's your expereince with these trading npcs? which faction should I choose?

any help is appreciated, thanks.

Top Comment:

You will want to trade with both sides at some point anyways so consider getting green if your char is RP or EK since they can carry the heavier green items like knight armors and legs. The blue side would be better for a mage if you have one of those since those items are somewhat lighter. If you play with a buddy take one each so you can help eachother sell items off, otherwise get them both through having 2 chars do the quest :)

Top Comment: When I turned 18 years old I bought a pack of nonfiltered Lucky Strikes. I remember thinking if it was good enough for K-rations it was good enough for me. After the first few puffs, I got sick as a dog. I turned green for sure.

I read somewhere that the further the war went on, the soviet uniforms became more green. I prefer green over khaki, but I think I painted them too dark. Do you guys think this color is okay for late war soviet?

Top Comment: I'm also starting with the Russians. From what I found while researching, there really was no rhyme or reason to the actual fabric coloring. They were mass-producing the uniforms at factories all over the country. Local supply chains and logistics meant that there was no "uniform" color. You can read and find lots of examples here. . I did read that the uniforms were dyed a khaki green, but that dye faded over time and from exposure. My plan is to have the "Inexperienced" units have the slightly greener shade, with "Regular" units being the standard khaki shades and "Veteran" units having a more random assortment of shades to reflect how old the fabric is and how weathered and worn it was.
